The Vanuatu Consulate in Hong Kong has officially opened its new Passport Enrolment System, designed to collect biometric information from passport applicants.
Starting from the second week of November 2025, all individuals applying for a Vanuatu passport will need to provide fingerprints and facial recognition data in person, either at the Hong Kong consulate or at Vanuatu’s government headquarters.
The consulate has dedicated passport officers to ensure a professional, efficient, and secure enrolment process. This launch reflects the Vanuatu government’s commitment to supporting its overseas consulates and enhancing the security and integrity of passport issuance.
The system is part of a broader initiative to expand biometric enrolment services globally. In addition to Hong Kong, similar systems will soon be available at Vanuatu consulates in Dubai, Brussels, and New Caledonia. The old passport system, which did not require biometric data, will be fully replaced in early November 2025, with all related fees and regulations already in effect.
This upgraded enrolment system ensures that Vanuatu passports remain secure, globally recognized, and efficiently issued for all applicants.
